Our Search for Rare Earth Elements

We started looking at what rare earth elements are today in Room 2 and why they are important.  As part of this learning we did some Unmaking, we dismantled a variety of cell phones and NextBooks to have a look at what they were made of.

The slide deck above shows you a few photos of us in action. We are keen to find out more about what's inside our devices and more about the kinds of rare earth elements they contain.

Watch this space for more details about what we've discovered about Rare Earth Elements.

  2. Wow! I love unmaking, we're going to pull apart a computer hard drive and monitor next week but after seeing what you've done I'm going to have a look around and see what else I can find to unmake.
